Choose the Buying Route

Use the distributor route when the product list is still open. Use the private-label route when the products are mostly decided and the remaining work is branding, packing and approval.

Route 1

Build a distributor range

For importers and wholesalers choosing products for cafés, takeaway, catering, institutional or retail customers.

Send
Customer types, sales channels, destination and estimated quantity by product.
Review output
A shortlist by product role, compatible components, packing basis and documents to verify for each item.

Route 2

Develop a private-label range

For buyers with a product list who need printing, molded identification, labels, wrappers, retail packs or branded cartons.

Send
Exact product or reference, quantity by item, logo files, color references, barcode or legal copy and packing requirements.
Review output
The available branding route, artwork or tooling checks, sample or proof path and item-level quotation basis.

Not range-wide: MOQ, sample method, production time, branding options and documents are confirmed for each SKU. One approved artwork or certificate does not automatically cover the complete range.

Build the Shortlist by Product Role

A distributor range should cover the jobs in the customer's service flow: drinks, main meals, sides, serving ware, utensils and carry packaging. Select the product first, then confirm the compatible lid, accessory and packing route.

Example starter shortlist

Use this only as a first shortlist. Sizes, materials, lids, quantities and documents still require item review.

Confirm Branding at SKU Level

Private label is not one printing method. The available route depends on the exact product, surface, mold or tooling, quantity, artwork and packing format. Treat every size and artwork version as a separate approval item.

Typical routes to verify

Product familyPossible route, subject to SKU reviewInformation that changes the quote
Paper cupsDirect print on supported cup constructions; printed sleeve; labels and branded cartonsCup size and construction, color count, print area, quantity and pack count
Paper bowls and boxesDirect print where supported; band, sleeve, label or stickerMaterial or barrier, size, lid route, artwork coverage, quantity and packing
Paper bagsPrinting on selected kraft or white bags; labels and carton marksBag size, paper, handle construction, print panels, artwork and quantity
Bagasse tablewareMolded or embossed logo where the model allows; printed band, sleeve or labelExisting mold, logo position and depth, quantity, tooling need and retail packing
Cornstarch tablewareMolded or embossed logo, reviewed color, labels, retail packs and cartonsSelected model or tooling, color, logo, quantity, inner packing and carton
Cutlery and meal kitsPlain or printed wrapper, label, branded bag, retail set or cartonUtensil mix, size, wrapper artwork, napkin or accessory mix and sets per pack

Approval rule: a logo, print file, molded mark or packing artwork is approved against one product reference. Reuse on another size or SKU requires a new fit and artwork check.

Five places where branding can appear

Product surfaceDirect print, molded or embossed mark where supported.
AccessorySleeve, band, sticker, label, napkin or wrapper.
Unit packIndividual wrap, branded inner bag or meal-set pack.
Retail packPack count, barcode, language text and consumer-facing label.
Master cartonProduct identification, carton label, shipping mark and handling text.

Match Documents to the Exact Product

Do not request a generic “certificate pack.” Send the product code or description, material or coating, destination market and the claim or standard you need to support. The document must match the product, certificate holder or factory and current scope.

BPI compostability

EcoLeaderPack's sustainability page lists BPI certificates for specified uncolored and unprinted cutlery and tableware under ASTM D6400 for commercial composting.

DIN CERTCO material registration

The site lists a registered compostable material certificate against EN 13432 and ASTM D6400. Material registration is not automatic proof for every finished SKU.

TÜV Austria OK Biobased

The site lists a Class 3 bio-based carbon result for the certified raw material. Check whether that material is used in the finished product being quoted.

ISO 9001 and ISO 14001

These are management-system certificates for stated activities. They do not by themselves prove that a finished product is compostable or compliant for food contact.

Before using a claim or logo: check the current file, certificate number, holder, covered product or material, factory scope, standard, expiry or validity information and destination-market labeling rules.

Request documents for selected items

From Shortlist to Repeat Order

Use one approval record for each item. That record should connect the product specification, quotation, artwork version, packing instruction, sample or proof and applicable documents.

  1. 01

    Send the brief

List product type or SKU, size, use, quantity by item, destination and target timing.

  2. 02

    Review the item list

Identify exact products, compatible lids or accessories and any alternatives that need separate approval.

  3. 03

    Set the quotation basis

Confirm MOQ, unit and carton packing, setup or tooling, sample route, lead-time basis and shipping terms.

  4. 04

    Prepare brand files

Provide vector artwork, color references, barcode or legal copy, pack count and carton marks.

  5. 05

    Review samples or proofs

Agree whether the project uses a stock sample, custom sample, artwork proof or pre-production reference.

  6. 06

    Approve the record

Sign off the product specification, artwork version, packing layout and commercial terms before production.

  7. 07

    Produce and prepare shipment

Use the approved references for order-specific production, packing and shipment information.

  8. 08

    Reconfirm the repeat order

Reuse approved references, then reconfirm availability, price, MOQ, lead time and document validity.

What Must Be Reconfirmed for Every SKU

EcoLeaderPack production, warehouse and packing facilities

A mixed-material range can be handled as one commercial project, but each item keeps its own quotation and approval record.

01

Product specification

Item code, material or coating, dimensions, capacity, unit weight or construction and intended food use.

02

Component fit

Exact lid, base, sleeve, insert or accessory reference; do not rely on a category name alone.

03

MOQ, price and timing

Quantity by item, setup or tooling, current price, production basis and whether schedules can be combined.

04

Branding and packing

Artwork version, printable or moldable area, labels, inner packs, retail packs, carton quantity and marks.

05

Samples and approvals

Available stock sample, custom sample or proof route, review points, cost and timing.

06

Documents and destination

Applicable food-contact, material, compostability or management-system files for the selected item and market.

Whether several items can share one production schedule, order or shipment is confirmed only after the SKU list, factories, quantities and availability are reviewed.
